Get to know Don Goldstone
I’ve been involved with music for 58 years. Started playing clarinet at 9 years old ,saxophone at 13, flute at 16. I’ve never looked back. My clarinet teachers were Leon Russianoff in New York and Karl Leister of the Berlin Philharmonic in Germany. My saxophone and flute teacher was Al Regni, first call woodwind player in New York for many years. I attended SUNY Purchase, where I was in the first graduating class. It was a BFA program where I could study with any teacher I chose in the New York City area.
My music industry career includes 9 years as the New England District Manager for the Selmer Company, now Conn-Selmer and 10 years as Educational Representative for Music and Arts. I am currently as active as possible playing all styles of music including orchestral, concert band, jazz combos, chamber music, shows, big band, etc. I also have over 40 years experience as a private woodwind teacher, having helped many students start out on this adventure, and eventually qualify for the All State festival. I’ve also helped many adults rediscover their ability and love of their instrument.
