Teaching Philosophy: Being patient, knowing the student and understanding various teaching styles to make for an effective teacher. Dustin has studied with over 20+ teachers during his journey in music.
Get to know Dustin Fichter
Dustin has been teaching at Music and Arts since 2020. He holds a Bachelors degree from the prestigious Belmont University and a Masters from University of Louisville. Dustin has been surrounded by music throughout his life whether it was from his Aunt who was a violinist with the Atlanta Symphony, or with his teachers. Most notably John Pell who recorded with Chet Atkins and Marvin Gaye, and Jamey Abersold, the pioneer of Jazz Education. Dustin has played in a wide variety of settings ranging from studio work, and arranging for Vocalist Cinnamon Denise, Big Band work with Alto Saxophonist Charles Macphearson, Lead Guitarist for Gospel Music Icons Hezekiah Walker, and JJ Hairston, and playing with Danny Gottlieb, Drummer for Pat Metheny.
