About Dr. Benji Tomassetti

Dr. Benjamin Tomassetti teaches beginner to advanced woodwinds (soprano, alto, tenor, and baritone saxophones, clarinet, and bass clarinet) and beginner through intermediate strings (violin, viola, cello, and string bass). His structured, engaging lessons build strong fundamentals through technique, music reading, duets, and personalized assignments while incorporating classical repertoire, jazz improvisation, scales, and music theory. Benjamin believes students learn best by doing, creating a positive, low-stress environment where confidence and steady progress flourish. Whether preparing for school auditions, performances, or personal musical goals, students receive individualized support every step of the way. Benjamin holds a Doctor of Musical Arts and Master of Music from the University of Oregon, a Bachelor of Music from Shenandoah Conservatory, and a Virginia Teaching License.
