About Evan

My instrument experience began how it does for most kids; I was shoehorned into a random spot in my 5th grade band in 2009. Since my last name starts with T, I was one of the last to pick an instrument and all the ones I really wanted were full. Thus starting my journey as a drummer (I actually wanted to play flute or trumpet)! I actually took my first drum lessons with Stan Little at B&B Music. I always enjoyed music but I didn’t fall in love with it until middle school, in 7th grade specifically. Between playing in the middle school drumline and being selected to sing in the Junior All-State choir, I just knew that music would always be a massive part of my life. My middle school music teacher, Jane Grudzina, was the first educator that planted the seed in my mind that I would one day want to teach music too. Fast forwarding to now, I can honestly say that music is my life! Between teaching students and playing with my band, every step I take is a musical one. To me, there is nothing greater than helping someone else find their own beat.
