George Jones teaches beginner to advanced drum students with an emphasis on relaxed technique, strong fundamentals, and steady progress. His lessons begin with stick control, stroke development, and exercises that strengthen the hands and wrists before advancing to essential drum rudiments and performance skills. George teaches rock, jazz, pop, R&B, classical, Latin, Brazilian, and other styles, adapting instruction to each student's interests and needs. He prepares students for recitals while helping them build confidence, structure, and enjoyment in their playing. George studied percussion at Howard University and has taught for 45 years.
