Education: John has received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Music Composition at Georgia State University with Dr. N. J. Demos. He also holds a Diploma in Music Composition and a Diploma in Byzantine Music (Eastern Orthodox Chant).
Performance Experience: As a performer, in a 30 year span, John has performed for theater plays, as a choir accompanist, church organist, and also performed with classical orchestra and Greek bands in Greek Festivals and other events, in Greece and U.S.
Teaching Experience: Mr. Papaspyrou has been an active music educator since 1993, teaching a variety of subjects including music theory, orchestration, piano, guitar, mandolin, ukulele, Greek bouzouki, Greek lute and Eastern Ud.
Teaching Philosophy: Through my years of teaching musical instruments, I developed, tested and applied techniques and strategies that help the students to overcome faster and with less effort obstacles that encounter in their way to master the music they learn so that they save time, progress faster and enjoy their musical journey.

Mr. Ioannis "John" Papaspyrou is native Greek professional music educator, performer, composer, arranger and musicologist. He has received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Music Composition at Georgia State University with Dr. N. J. Demos. He also holds Diploma in Music Composition and Diploma in Byzantine Music (Eastern Orthodox Chant). Mr. Papaspyrou has considerable portfolio of compositions which are mainly influenced by Greek popular, folk and Byzantine and Jazz music. His portfolio includes music for theater and for two short silent films participating in the Silent Sound Film Festival in Chicago. His piece “Mysterioso Agitato” was finalist at the 2011 “Soli fan tutti” composition competition at Darmstadt, Germany. Mr. Papaspyrou has been an active music educator since 1993, teaching variety of subjects including music theory, orchestration, piano, guitar, mandolin, ukulele, Greek bouzouki, Greek lute and Eastern Ud. As performer, in 30 – year span, he has performed for theater plays, as choir accompanist, church organist, and also performed with classical orchestra and Greek bands in Greek Festivals and other events, in Greece and U.S.
