About Jared Erskine
Get to know Jared Erskine
I began my music ed career at San Jose State University in California in the early nineteen seventies. The Suzuki Program was in the beginning phases I became
one of the first string teachers to become certified in America. I taught strings to pay for school using the Suzuki method and, in that way, school paid for school. I was focused on the primary grades but, over the years, I have expand to viola and cello.
At this point, I have accumulated fifty years teaching experience in primary and secondary string education.
I am now retired and teach as a leisure time activity. In this way I get to pass along years of experience. This has proved helpful to string students pursuing the NYSSMA requirement for New York State.
I also teach associated instruments such as mandolin, mandola, mandocello and tenor banjo.
