Education: Jason holds a Doctorate in Music Education (Boston University), Master of Music in Performance (UNC-School of the Arts), and a Master of Liberal Arts and Sciences (UNC-Asheville).
Performance Experience: Some notable artists Jason has performed and/or recorded with include Randy Brecker, Grant Green Jr., Justin Stanton (of Snarky Puppy), Sharel Cassity, Jocelyn Gould, Lenora Helm Hammonds, Gino Castillo, Yonrico Scott (of the Derek Trucks Band), Billy Contreras, Bruce Forman, and Secret Agent 23 Skidoo.
Teaching Experience: He is an Instructor of Music at Warren Wilson College, where he coordinates jazz studies, teaches applied percussion, applied piano, applied improvisation, and music theory. Jason also has taught at Brevard College and AB Tech.
Teaching Philosophy: Jason believes in the power of experiential learning, where the student gains an understanding of music through playing, listening, and thinking about music in deeper ways. He is also committed to creating a curriculum centered around the student's specific goals.
