Teaching Philosophy: My teaching philosophy is centralized around making the guitar an effortless act, thus unlocking one’s full potential to create music. This stems from understanding the nuances of proper technique and not relying upon series of repetitions that do not further a student’s musical development.
Get to know Jeff Shick
My musical journey began here, at the Spartanburg Music & Arts store, sixteen years ago, and continues to shape my life’s framework of joy and musical exploration.
I graduated from USC-Columbia, and on a classical guitar scholarship was privileged to study with Christopher Berg; who received instruction from Andrés Segovia. Highlights of my performance history were had in Berg’s masterclass as a soloist, and as a member of the classical guitar ensemble, along with various weddings and recitals. (2015-2018, minor of Music-Classical Guitar Performance).
My students will be given the tools to build a lifetime of enjoyment with the guitar tailored to their own goals.
