About Jonah Richardson
Get to know Jonah Richardson
Jonah Richardson, a Columbus native, has been studying the oboe for 12 years. Beginning in his 6th grade band, Jonah taught himself for the first 3 years. It was not until he began working with a private instructor at the end of 8th grade, that Jonah's passion for music and the oboe exploded. This passion led Jonah to attend Interlochen Arts Academy, an arts boarding school in northern Michigan. From this point, Jonah has been dedicated to classical music and the oboe, working diligently towards mastering the instrument. Jonah then attended the Cleveland Institute of Music where he studied with Frank Rosenwein, the principle oboist of the Cleveland Orchestra. Jonah has worked with legendary oboists such as Elaine Douvas of the Juilliard School and the Metropolitan Opera, Dwight Parry of the Cincinnati Symphony, and Katherine Needleman of the Curtis Institute of Music and Baltimore Symphony. Since graduating, Jonah has returned to Columbus, where he is gaining experience as an instructor and orchestral musician.
