About Jonathan Snyder

Jonathan Snyder is a professional horn player, educator, composer, and arranger based in Las Vegas. He performs throughout the region as Principal Horn of the Nevada Chamber Orchestra and Las Vegas Summerlin Symphony and has performed with ensembles including the Las Vegas Philharmonic and Opera Las Vegas. He is also Assistant Principal Horn of the Oregon Coast Music Festival Orchestra.

Jonathan earned his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Horn Performance from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and currently teaches music at UNLV and the College of Southern Nevada. As a teacher, he enjoys helping students develop strong fundamentals, confidence, musical expression, and an approach to the horn that is both efficient and sustainable.

His students range from developing players building their first strong foundation on the instrument to advanced musicians preparing for auditions, performances, and collegiate study. In addition to teaching and performing, Jonathan is an active composer and arranger whose music has been performed by university and professional musicians around the country.
