About Joseph Havely

Education: Course work in Behavioral Science and Business, Glendale Community College, Glendale, AZ.

Performance Experience: Joseph has performed throughout the Phoenix area over the years. He also, performed and recorded with various bands and artists; including nationally known Loosely Tight. Joseph continues to perform live locally, as well as, supporting other recording projects.

Teaching Experience: Teaching part time for over 20 years, full time since 2019 at Music & Arts, other stores in the Valley and at his studio. Joseph teaches several genres of music. His personal favorites are rock and metal. In addition, he has experience in jazz, blues, country, alternative and classic rock.

Teaching Philosophy: Joseph realizes every student is unique with different abilities, desires and goals. This is no one size fits all approach. Joseph loves music because he finds it helps with meditation, enhances coordination and cognitive skills, along with allowing him to express his creative side. He finds teaching drums very rewarding; especially when he sees (hears) his students become skilled musicians, developing a life skill that contributes not only to their appreciation of music but growth as person.
