About Josh Lopez

Josh believes that anyone with a desire to learn can become a great player. Having this vision, he enthusiastically guides students in accomplishing their goals, while progressively introducing them to what exists musically. Josh's teaching emphasizes physical technique, applied music theory, and historical context.

Josh has spent 7 years and counting under mentors whose teaching were the likes of the renowned Andres Segovia, Manuel Barrueco, and Aaron Shearer. He has performed at public and private events, given recitals, and taught privately for 3 years. Josh's playing primarily consists of Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and contemporary repertoire, but he enjoys playing and teaching other finger-style songs as well.

In addition to guitar, Josh has almost 3 years' experience working in higher education. He is currently the Instructional Technologist for Hagerstown Community College.
