Performance Experience: 4 years in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard Band of the Northeast; Principal Clarinet for wind ensembles and orchestras throughout college and graduate school; recipient of UD Woodwind Ensemble Fellowship, multiple solo recitals, and various performances with jazz and rock bands.

Teaching Experience: Teaching since 2016 in music store studios, university community music programs, woodwind section clinics and sectionals, and maintaining a private studio.

Teaching Philosophy: Every student has the ability to learn their passion, and it’s my goal as their teacher to help them feel encouraged and facilitated towards reaching their fullest potential.

Get to know Josh

Josh Snively is a clarinetist, instrument repairman, and composer/producer. As a performer, he has traveled across the United States and to Europe. From 2018-2022, he held a Clarinet position in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard Band of the Northeast, serving as Music Librarian and Arranger. He performed numerous solo and chamber recitals throughout college and graduate school, performing standards of new and traditional musical styles. His music and productions are featured in web shows, short films, music streaming services, academic recitals, and international conferences with ensembles of all levels.

His instrument repair work started as an internship for his high school’s STEM program, and combined his love for engineering mechanics and music. His work continued through his performance studies, working on instruments for his schools’ music departments and steadily growing his freelance trade.

In his free time Josh enjoys longboarding, painting, and exploring video game sound design.
