About Jt Odell

JT Odell is a brass teacher who works with beginner to advanced trumpet students and beginning through high school-level students on all other brass instruments. His lessons focus on developing musicianship through real music, helping students learn technique in a practical and engaging way rather than relying solely on exercises. JT teaches a wide variety of styles, including classical, jazz, Latin, and commercial music, while incorporating ear training, music theory, and music history when appropriate. Guided by a holistic philosophy that emphasizes listening and musical expression, he helps students develop confidence, artistry, and performance skills. JT holds a Bachelor of Music in Instrumental Performance from Northern Arizona University and has performed professionally with orchestras, jazz ensembles, musical theater productions, and salsa bands since 2009.
