About Dr. 'KC' James

Dr. James has been involved with music, from his ealiest days as a youth, in Philadelphia, Pa. He teaches the fundamentals of all orchestral strings: violin, viola, cello, & double bass. A 30 year veteran of the U.S. Navy, he has been a member/musician with a variety of symphony orchestras and musical ensembles. He currently performs with 'Symphonicity: the symphony orchestra of Va Beach', at the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts. He has maintained a studio at Music & Arts for over 20 years. Many of his students have won a variety of national/area soloist & orchestral auditions/competions, ranging from the Elementary to High School levels. A good number of his students have excelled in their instrument proficiency, with many being accepted into Salem High School for the Arts, Bay Youth Ochestra (all levels), Senior Reginal Orchestra, & Governor's School for the Arts. Through his excellent instruction, Dr. James is known for encouraging students of all ages, and helping each one, to excel in their skill and love for music.
