About Kris Harper

My name is Kris Harper and I have 43 years of experience as a parish Director of Church Music, Organist, Cantor and Music Educator. I am an organist and pianist for all liturgies, funerals and special occasions. I have been a Music Coordinator, organist and cantor for many local parishes. I currently hold these positions at the Youngstown State University Newman Center and St. Angela Merici Parish/ St. Patrick's Parish in Youngstown. I have also been  a music director for Villa Maria, The Hoyt Arts and Education Program in New Castle, PA, and The Valley Fine Arts Academy in Youngstown where I am the Founder/President. This Academy serves the needs of the children of  the Youngstown are grades 5-12. The mission is to bring focus to the fine arts to children of all cultures, race and socioeconomic backgrounds. I instruct in all genres of music, such as dance and movement, visual arts, theatrical arts, choir, creative writing and poetry, and Orff Instruments. I am also the director of The Mahoning Valley Chorale
