About Lana Withrow

Hello! I have been a clarinet and sax instructor at Music & Arts since the Fall of ‘97, but started teaching lessons back during my high school days. Some of my earliest musical memories are marching around the house with rhythm instruments to the stirring marches of John Phillip Sousa, and singing The Star Spangled Banner from the top of my lungs while swinging in the back yard! I was blessed to have a wonderful family, church, band directors and clarinet teachers, who inspired a love of music within me, and a desire to positively impact the lives of young musicians.I embrace the opportunity to help a senior in high school get ready to audition for a college music scholarship, as well as the chance to guide a 5th or 6th grader who doesn’t yet know one end of their instrument from the other. If you want a teacher who will push you to succeed but make it fun along the way, I hope we will get a chance to work together!
