About Laura Phillips

Laura attended Eastern Washington University for music performance.  While at EWS she performed piccolo and flute in the band and orchestra.  During her studies she obtained her music education credentials, becoming very proficient on clarinet, oboe, and saxophone, in addition to higher proficiency on flute and piccolo. In order to complete her degree Laura completed her performance credentials on flute with full junior and senior recitals during her coursework.

Locally, Laura plays flute and piccolo with the Seattle Flute Society Flute Choir and at her local church.  Laura is a highly effective teacher, as she has been teaching publicly and privately since 1984.  She has also written compositions for local concert community bands.

Laura enjoys using her creative and perceptive skills to help students build upon their own musical skills.  She actively listens to the input of her parents and students to understand and establish successful learning strategies.
