Music Teacher, Master
Location: Asheville, NC
Speaks: English
Instructs: Piano
Education: Madison earned a Bachelors of Arts in Music with a Minor in Business Administration from Adrian College. She is also Suzuki certified in Piano, and offers these types of lessons by request.
Performance Experience: Madison has performed in many bands and ensembles from humble beginnings in high school wind ensembles and cover bands, to chamber and concert choirs, and various bands in college and afterwards. She has performed with folk bands, and several rock bands, including her current project, Bombay Gasoline. Madison has played bars, clubs, street corners, festivals, and even at Carnegie Hall!
Teaching Experience: Madison has worked with students from many backgrounds for 8 years, helping them find their voice at the piano. Whether you're interested in learning classical music, sight reading, pop songs, developing your songwriting skills, or want to know more about what it takes to perform regularly and book your own tours, she can help you develop competency in those areas.
Teaching Philosophy: "I believe that studying music is about finding your own expression and removing barriers to creating the kinds of sounds you hear or feel inside. Everyone who is willing and able to spend the time and energy on it can learn an instrument. Music is not a talent, so much as it is a skill we learn and practice regularly."
