Teaching Philosophy: I believe in personally creating a lesson plan for each students needs and goals. I like to encourage them as they learn new concepts and practice methods. My goal is to get everyone playing the music they want to play as quickly as possible. The end goal is to motivate them to play and perform with other musicians.
Get to know Mark Shields
Mark Shields is a classically trained guitarist from Maryland, receiving a B.A. in Music from Salisbury University.
He is inspired by all musical styles including rock, blues, metal, classical, jazz, country, folk and pop. He has played in rock, pop and country bands as well as done solo performances at weddings, holiday parties and retirement homes.
These days he enjoys creating his own compositions which draw from a fusion of styles. "It's mostly about creating and portraying feelings", he states.
Mr. Shields has taught for Music and Arts for 10 years and likes to encourage students of all ages; including those with disabilities.
Mark mostly plays PRS & Breedlove guitars and Mesa Boogie amps.
