About Mathias Farley

My name is Mathias Farley, and I play the trombone. My musical journey began when I was in the third grade, when I joined the taiko club at my Japanese immersion elementary school. It was then that I discovered my love for playing music, so I decided to continue into middle school. I began playing trombone in the sixth grade and found an immediate passion for it, auditioning for jazz bands, regional and state ensembles, and looking for any sort of opportunities to play in different settings. Continuing into high school, I decided to join the marching band as well and learned how to play the euphonium and tuba. When it came time to begin thinking about college majors, I decided that I wanted to become a music major and went to the University of North Carolina at Asheville.
