Teaching Philosophy: I believe all of my students work at a different paces and excel in different key areas. I strive to continue highlighting strengths and building weaknesses, to continue inspiring and challenging all who seek guidance.

Get to know Maxwell Gill

Max Gill started playing trombone at the age of 11. During high school, he studied under Charlotte Symphony member Tom Burge and played with the Queen City Brass Band. Continuing with lessons under Mr. Burge, Max went on to study at Central Piedmont Community College. At the college, Mr. Gill had the chance to experience and learn a number of different styles of music, notably playing with Bill Hana and Matt Postle in the Big Band and jazz bands, as well as learning the sackbut for the early music ensemble.

From CPCC, Max has gone on to finish his studies at the University of North Carolina At Charlotte. He currently studies under Asheville symphony member, Jeremy Marks. Mr. Gill continues to play around the Charlotte area in both jazz and classical styles. He also plays piano with jazz quintet Bastet.
