About Maya Imamovic

With over 30 years of playing experience and nearly two decades of teaching, Maya is a passionate and highly skilled violinist dedicated to helping students grow, succeed, and fall in love with music. She began playing violin at age 8 and has since built a rich career as both a performer and pedagogue.

Maya holds a bachelor’s degree in violin and has taught students of all ages for 19 years. Her students have gone on to win top prizes at international competitions, a testament to her thoughtful instruction, high standards, and encouraging approach. From her early days studying and performing in orchestras while teaching full-time, Maya developed a strong work ethic that she now passes on to her students in every lesson.

Her achievements include awards and certifications across Europe—from Bosnia and Herzegovina to Croatia and Serbia—including multiple first-place wins with her students at international festivals such as “Primavera,” “Young Virtuoso,” and “Uzmah.” She has also completed advanced masterclasses with acclaimed professors like Violeta Smailović Huart and Vladimir Marković.

Maya’s teaching blends tradition, discipline, and warmth. She creates a supportive space where beginners feel confident and inspired, and where more advanced students can push their potential.
