About Michael Miller

Mike Miller teaches beginner to intermediate guitar and piano, creating welcoming, structured lessons that make learning music fun and rewarding. His patient approach introduces students to their instruments through proper handling, technique, music reading, rhythm, and theory while incorporating music history and practical exercises. Mike teaches folk songs, ballads, and blues, using a step-by-step approach to develop musical understanding, creativity, and confidence. He encourages consistent practice and helps students prepare for recitals while building skills for lifelong musical enjoyment. Mike has over 20 years of teaching experience, including public school band and orchestra instruction, and holds K–12 music teaching certifications in Maryland and West Virginia.
