About Pat Kelbaugh
Get to know Pat Kelbaugh
Since my
first experience in second grade, I have been immersed in musical pursuits
throughout all my school years. I
studied piano as a student for nine years as well as singing in both school and
church choirs. I was selected to sing
solo and be part of small and select vocal ensembles including the Maryland All
State Chorus during my senior year. In a
performance of Brigadoon at the Community College of Baltimore, I sang and
danced while playing the role of Meg the milkmaid. As a member of the Baltimore Civic Opera
Ballet Company, I danced at the Lyric Theater in Baltimore.
While a
student at Towson University obtaining my bachelor’s
degree in early childhood education, I sang in the Community Chorus and
received continuous guidance for choral directing under the tutelage of several
outstanding choral directors. This gave me the
education required to teach preschoolers and children’s choir, as I have done
for several choral and
instrumental performances on the piano and the ukulele.
I am currently the choir director of Unity Center of Light Church. Several decades ago, I established the Patricia Kelbaugh Dance Studio, teaching ballet, tap, and jazz to both children and adults. I am a certified member of Dance Masters of America. My hobby, when time permits, is painting in watercolor.
