      Get to know Rachel McDonald

Hello! I’m Rachel McDonald and I have recently moved back to SC with my family a  few months ago. I love teaching music and I am happy to be working at Music and Arts as a Private Instructor.  I have been involved with music since I was a child. I started playing piano and singing lessons around 5 years old. When I was 11 years old I learned the violin through the Spartanburg District 7 school orchestra program. In my senior year of high school I decided I wanted to become a music teacher to share my love of music with others. I went to Limestone College for 3 years and then transferred to the University of Utah where I received my BA in Music Education in December 2002. Since then I have taught and/or volunteered in the school systems (K-12) in Utah, Texas and Arizona. I have taught private piano and violin for over 30 years and I’ve taught viola and cello (which I learned during college) for over 20 years. Music is my passion, and I love sharing my love of all types of music and instruments with others.
