About Rich Haley
Get to know Rich Haley
Born and raised in Western New York State, Rich has been involved in the
arts for over 50 years. After graduating from the State University of New York
at Fredonia with a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education, Rich further
earned a Master of Science degree in Music Education from the College of Saint
Rose.
During his studies, Rich had the privilege of studying under renowned
instructors, including Michael Powell, who teaches at the prestigious Julliard
School. He also received tutelage in trombone and euphonium from Barry
Kilpatrick and euphonium from Dr. Mary Ann Craig.
Rich has enjoyed an impressive career in music education, teaching band and
music in public schools since 1982. He is highly respected for his work with
concert bands and jazz ensembles, and his groups have won numerous awards and
recognitions at local and regional festivals and competitions. His reputation
extends across New York State and the Northeast US region.
In 2005, Rich relocated with his family from Western New York State to the
Carolinas, where he continued to teach privately and share his expertise with
students of all ages and skill levels. With almost 20 years of experience
teaching privately, Rich has a wealth of knowledge to draw from and enjoys
helping students achieve their musical goals.
Rich is a proud father of two. His son, Richard, is a private piano teacher,
and his daughter, Danielle, is completing her undergraduate studies in
psychology at Clemson University. Rich's passion for music education has
allowed him to make a positive impact on countless students over the years, and
he remains an accomplished and respected musician in the industry.
