About Richard Cox

Richard Cox is a lifelong Charlottean who now resides in Gastonia, NC. Richard was introduced to music at a very young age. After playing trumpet in school and taking private piano lessons, he instantly knew music was for him!  Richard started playing guitar in 1995. He invested into private guitar lessons and college courses concentrating on classical and flamenco style techniques. Richard continued to dive deeper and applied his learning to other styles such as Metal, Alternative, Rock , Bluegrass, and Swing Jazz! Richard has started many bands through the years with friends and other local musicians. He's recently found his niche perfoming at weddings and corporate events. Richard is a huge fan of the Guitar Grimoire series because of its exotic approach to scales, modes, theory, and patterns! During his free time, Richard spending time with family and friends. Whether it's swimming, mini-golf, concerts traveling; Richard is always down for a good time!
