      Get to know Robert Parrish

      Robert Parrish is a classically trained guitarist who has been versed in jazz guitar. He has played guitar since 1996 and taught guitar and ukulele since 2018. As the only guitar instructor at his previous lesson studio, he learned a teaching process that covers the key elements essential to play music traversing all styles.

      He studied musical performance with a focus on classical guitar at Anderson University. Studying under Lyman Golden, whose guitar lineage traces back to Andres Segovia, and Bruce Helgeson, who was a student of William Leavitt. He often performed for various functions for Anderson University. His performances include the Honors Recital at the South Carolina School of the Arts, a musical production of Big Fish at Anderson University, and at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

      He's currently in several solo and group acts at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Anderson. He also collaborates with fellow musicians in the area performing in various venues.
