Get to know Ron
Ron Johnson teaches beginner to advanced drumset, marching snare, marching bass, marching tenors, and mallet percussion. His relaxed, encouraging lessons combine warm-ups, technique, music reading, improvisation, and playing along with recordings to keep students engaged and progressing. Ron helps students become more comfortable and confident while developing the skills needed to reach their next level. Lessons can focus on school music, district and chair auditions, recitals, or personal musical growth across concert, marching, and contemporary percussion styles. Ron is a retired Air Force Bands concert percussionist with extensive teaching experience and a Master of Music degree.
