About Ruby Branscomb

Hi!  My name is Ruby and I have been playing the violin since I was 6 years old.  I am from the DMV area and, in the 5th grade, was one of six students in Maryland admitted to the Thomas Pullman Academy for the Arts, located in P.G. County, for Violin performance.  This fostered a love and familiarity of performing arts.  I’d love to help you or your child prep for an audition! 

I attended Brooklyn College in NYC to study theatre before transferring to UDC (HBCU pride!), where I received my bachelor’s in Political Science.  I have been teaching violin for 2 years now, and it is my favorite job I’ve ever had!  In my lessons we will learn how to read music, become familiar with all the parts of your instrument, develop a beautiful sound and most of all, have fun playing alone and together.  Together, we can learn a universal language spoken worldwide: music!  Sign up for a lesson with me and we will play everything from fiddle tunes to waltzes.
