Performance Experience: 13 years of playing double bass including participation in groups such as the Crane Symphony Orchestra, Crane Symphonic Band, and multiple pit ensembles within the community.
Teaching Experience: Utica City Schools- 2 Years- General Music/Choir- Grades K-6/3-6, Fulton City School District- Current (1 year completed)- Orchestra Director- Grades 9-12
Teaching Philosophy: Music Education matters when students know that they matter. My job as a teacher is to provide students the knowledge they require to aid their self driven musical discoveries. I provide an environment where students are encouraged to ask questions, discuss their thought processes, and continuously build their knowledge through both discussions on music theory, music technique, and hands on educational experiences.

Ryan King has been playing Double Bass for about 13 years and has experiences from both in Orchestra and Band ensembles. Growing up, Ryan has enjoyed music and sought opportunities to share that passion with others. Ryan holds a bachelors and masters of Music Education from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam. Ryan has been a public educator for the past three years, teaching both in Utica, NY and Fulton, NY.
