I am attending Stony Brook University as a Clinical Laboratory Science major with a Music Theory minor.
Performance Experience:
I have since participated in countless string orchestras and festivals, including Ward Melville High School’s Chamber Orchestra, Harbor Front Chamber Music, Long Island String Festival Association, and Suffolk County Music Education Association. I’ve also completed NYSSMA for Viola, along with two years of NYSSMA All-State solos and qualification for NAfME All-National Honors Ensemble. Finally, I am currently a violist for the Stony Brook University Orchestra!
Teaching Experience:
I’ve studied under Dr. Ofir Tomer for the last 7 years, and have taught violin and viola for over 3 years now both privately and through Ward Melville’s “Music Without Borders” program.
Teaching Philosophy:
Outside of performance, my hobbies include composing, watching anime, drawing/painting, and embroidery!
Get to know Sahana G.
Sahana Gupta is a violinist and violist with over twelve years of experience as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral performer. She currently serves as Co-Principal Violist of the Stony Brook University Orchestra and previously served as Principal Violist for the LISFA and SCMEA music festivals. A two-time NYSSMA All-State violist, NAME All-National Honors Ensemble qualifier, and two-time recipient of the Pierrot Chamber Music Festival Fellowship Grant, she also teaches violin, viola, and guitar professionally at Music & Arts.
