Teaching Philosophy:
Ms. Hochberg believes that any committed student can learn how to play a string instrument. Her lessons allow students the opportunity to have fun, and to express themselves. It is her mission to provide a space for students to grow musically, and individually.
Besides helping students through music, her ultimate goal through is to teach students life skills such as: responsibility, discipline, time management, open-mindedness, and/or communication skills.
Get to know Savannah Hochberg
Savannah Hochberg is currently the orchestra director at Tomahawk Intermediate School, Hedgesville Middle and High School in Hedgesville, West Virginia. Her primary instrument is the viola, but can play/teach all four.
For the past seven years, Ms. Hochberg has taught private lessons of all different ages and string instruments. Her students have successfully auditioned into BISFA, West Virginia All State, and various ensembles.
Besides teaching, she plays in the Charles Washington Orchestra based in Jefferson County, WV and performs wedding gigs.
In her free time, Ms. Hochberg enjoys reading mystery novels, thrifting/antiquing, and composing music on the side.
