      Get to know Savannah Hochberg

Savannah Hochberg is currently the orchestra director at Tomahawk Intermediate School, Hedgesville Middle and High School in Hedgesville, West Virginia. She graduated from West Virginia University with her Bachelors of Arts in Music Education, and her primary instrument is the viola.
For the past five years, Ms. Hochberg has taught private lessons of all different ages and string instruments. She also has experience managing large groups of students from her time as a Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp counselor. From playing in various string quartets/orchestras to conducting ensembles across the state, she enjoys staying busy!
Ms. Hochberg believes that any committed student can learn how to play a string instrument, and that students should have a choice in what they learn. It is her mission to provide a space for students to grow musically, and for students to grow as individuals.
Not every student will be a musician, or become a music teacher. However, students can take away valuable life skills such as: responsibility, discipline, time management, open-mindedness, or communication skills.
Besides teaching or playing music, Ms. Hochberg also enjoys going to the beach, reading mystery novels, and composing music on the side.
      Savannah Hochberg teaches at:
      18023 Garland Groh Blvd
      Hagerstown, MD 21740
