About Scott Gregory
Get to know Scott Gregory
Scott is a guitarist and multi-instrumentalist with over 30 years of professional playing, recording, performing, and teaching experience.
Coming out of the Chicago music scene, Scott has worked in studios and on stages with major-label artists and with producers and engineers under the Universal Group of labels whose credits include top-charting rock, pop, and R&B acts from the early 2000s to today.
That real-world background grounds Scott’s teaching style: practical, music-first, and focused on what actually works when you plug in, step on stage, or hit “record.” Scott teaches guitar and bass guitar at all levels—from day-one beginners to advanced players tightening up technique, theory, improvisation, and performance chops. Lessons are customized around each student’s goals, mixing solid fundamentals (time, tone, fretboard knowledge, harmony) with the songs and styles they actually want to play.
The vibe is relaxed but focused: clear weekly goals, honest feedback, and a supportive environment where students are encouraged to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow. Whether the aim is jamming at home, joining a band, recording original music, or preparing for auditions, Scott helps each student build the skills and confidence to actually get there.
In addition to guitar and bass, Scott also teaches beginners on violin, upright bass, banjo, and mandolin, helping students build a solid string-instrument foundation they can grow from in any direction.
