About Suzanne Wolvin
Get to know Suzanne Wolvin
Suzanne studied music at Oberlin College and the University of Oregon, and completed a Bachelor of Arts in Music and a Master of Music Education at Old Dominion University. Suzanne is an adjunct professor of music at Tidewater Community College (applied voice, music history, music appreciation, class piano, theory and sight singing). She has taught piano and voice privately over the course of 3 decades to all ages, and has been music director at two local churches—one liturgical, the other contemporary. Suzanne sings soprano with the Virginia Symphony Chorus, and has studied voice with Katherine Lakoski and Robynne Redmon. She is the director of a new, auditioned community choral ensemble, Cantabile Choir, which does predominantly sacred, historic repertoire. Suzanne specializes in piano, excellence in vocal technique, classical training, dealing with performance anxiety, competition/audition preparation, and has a passion for music history. Suzanne offers piano lessons for K-5 and up as well as voice lessons for high school and up.
