About Tyler Mastromatteo

Tyler Mastromatteo is a drum set teacher who works with beginner to advanced students, creating lessons that balance technique, musicality, and fun. Each lesson builds on previous progress while introducing new beats, songs, and challenges that keep students engaged and motivated. Tyler teaches a variety of styles including rock, pop, jazz, and funk, while incorporating snare drum skills, music theory, and overall musicianship into his instruction. His goal is to help students develop a genuine love for drumming and the confidence to continue practicing and growing on their own. Tyler studied Audio Production at American University, trained under Professor Larry Ferguson, and brings years of live performance experience throughout the DMV area.
