About Valerie Freeman

My name is Valerie, and I am so excited to meet you. I have been playing violin since I was 6, and viola since I was 10. I also teach intro cello. Basically, I come from a long line of musicians. I have played in small groups, community orchestras, solo, and theater groups. I play classical and traditional music (bluegrass, celtic fiddle, etc). I have helped students learn pop music as well. I truly love music of all kinds. I do not have a specific style of teaching. Rather, I like to meet you where you are. Together we will figure out where and how to get you where you want to go. 

I am not a professional musician, even though I have played nearly all of my life, and taught since I was about 25. I am a professional educator, however. I am nearing completion of my doctorate, which I expect to finish in 2022. Education is in my blood, it is core to who I am. I teach a variety of things, in a variety of places. Music brings my passion and my joy together. I have been told that I have changed people’s lives, in many arenas. Will you join me and let’s see if we can enrich yours?
