Vincent Lardear, Alto Saxophonist
Vince Lardear is a native of Wilmington, Delaware. As a high school senior he was selected to the McDonald's All-American Concert/Jazz Bands and was also a member of the All-East Jazz Ensemble. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree with Performer's Certificate from the prestigious Indiana University School of Music, along with a Master of Music degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. Vince was also a past East Coast Jazz Festival Emerging Artist Award recipient. He is a former member of the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra under trombonist Buddy Morrow and was lead alto with the Illinois Jacquet Big Band. He has recorded with Grammy Award winning saxophonist Phil Woods. Vince is currently a member of the Baltimore Symphony Pops. He has served as guest conductor of the Delaware All-State Junior High Jazz Band and has been a lecturer on jazz and contemporary music for the Delaware Humanities Forum. Vince's talent is a presence on the jazz scene in Philadelphia and the surrounding Tri-State area.
