Get to know William Bryant
Dr. William Fletcher Bryant is an accomplished composer, conductor, organist, and woodwind player with a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Washington in organ performance. Previously, he received his Master of Music degree in composition and organ performance from the renowned Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, as well as his Bachelor of Music degree in composition and oboe performance from the same institution. Dr. Bryant currently serves as Director of Music Ministries at Faith Lutheran Church in Redmond, WA. He has also appeared with many Seattle-area orchestras on the oboe/English horn and organ, and currently holds the second clarinet seat with the Seattle Festival Orchestra. In addition, he has performed with many Seattle-based theater companies as a reed player, performing on flutes, oboes, clarinets, saxophones, and keys. He has received many awards for his compositions and has works published both nationally and internationally.
Dr. Bryant teaches students of all ages and skill levels in piano, all woodwinds, composition, and music theory, and also coaches voice students interested in musical theatre. He is passionate about promoting new compositions and music from the American tradition. His teaching style incorporates theory and historical performance practice to ensure a well-rounded education for his students.
