      Location: Asheville, NC
      Speaks: English
      Instructs: Cello
Education: Zoe Taddie studied cello under Charles Griffith of the Ohio Chamber Orchestra from the age of ten. She played in youth orchestras, chamber groups, and toured with the Heights High School Symphony. Since moving to Asheville she has trained with Franklin Keel, and received string quartet coaching from Kara Poorbaugh, both of the Asheville Symphony Orchestra. Currently she continues her musical inquiries with UNCA Professor Joseph Falconer.
Performance Experience: Ms. Taddie grew up playing in youth orchestras and chamber groups, performed professional repertoire frequently in a string quartet with her children, and has been a member of the Blue Ridge Orchestra for the past two years. She also performs for weddings, and has recently formed a string quartet.
Teaching Experience: As a mother of three musicians, Ms. Taddie helped guide all of her children through the process of mastering their instruments, often helping out at music summer camps and performing with them at recitals, farmer’s markets and coffee shops, as well as taking on students from the local community who could not afford formal private lessons.
Teaching Philosophy: Music lives in every human heart. Nurturing it has the power to heal us all.

      Get to know Zoe Taddie

Zoe Taddie was born and raised on the east side of Cleveland, Ohio. Her interest in classical music was sparked by her mother’s vinyl record of Peter and the Wolf, narrated by David Bowie, which she listened to obsessively until she had memorized every word and melody. This passion for music led her to the cello, which she has played since the age of ten. From playing in youth orchestras and chamber groups, to becoming a mother of three and playing with her children, music has remained at the center of her life. She currently performs for weddings and with the Blue Ridge Orchestra, and loves sharing the joy of music with anyone who wants to learn.
