About Izzy Smith

Izzy Smith is a low brass teacher who works with beginner to advanced tuba, baritone, euphonium, bass trombone, and tenor trombone students, as well as beginner French horn and trumpet students. Her lessons blend strong fundamentals, scales, music theory, etudes, and performance preparation with a fun and encouraging approach that helps students build confidence and a lifelong love of music. Izzy specializes in classical and jazz styles, including orchestral, brass band, big band, and chamber music, while helping students understand the theory behind what they play. She encourages student reflection, goal setting, and musical exploration, creating an engaging environment where progress is celebrated. Izzy studied Tuba Performance at Mount St. Mary’s University and performs with numerous orchestras, brass bands, and chamber ensembles throughout the region.
