Get to know Logan O'Connell
Logan is a professional double reed educator, performer, and reed-maker. He has extensive knowledge and experience on many instruments including oboe, oboe d’amore, english horn, bass oboe, bassoon, contrabassoon, and Bb clarinet.
Logan received a BA in Music from the University of Montana and graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors. While there he also extensively studied the Japanese language and immersed himself within the school of humanities. Logan recently moved to Arizona to pursue greater career and performance opportunities.
Logan has taught private lessons for many years and his topics include performance, theory, aural training, reed-making, career planning, and pedagogy. He has studied with many private teachers from a variety of backgrounds for 10+ years on a range of instruments. Logan also handmakes over 200 double reeds per month which he sells through his own business.
Logan is an active performer and has performed in the: Missoula, Glacier, Great Falls and Montana Youth Symphonies, Missoula Children's Theatre, and he sits on the sub lists of the Helena & Bozeman Symphonies.
