About Westley Springthorpe

Hello! My name is Westley Springthorpe and I am a brass private lessons teacher for the Music and Arts private lesson program!

I was born up north in Massachusetts and moved across the country a few times, however I would consider my hometown to be right in Raleigh, NC!

I went to school for music eduction in the mountains over at Western Carolina University where I was involved in many musical programs from their prestigious and impressive marching band, to ensembles such as symphonic band, wind ensemble, as well as horn choir.

One of my main goals as a music educator is to provide a learning environment that consists of both high-quality instruction as well as inclusivity and accommodations for students of many backgrounds.

I believe that music is for anyone and everyone and that learning an instrument is truly like nothing else!

Aside from performing in many ensembles through WCU as well as graduating from the music ed. program, I also had the opportunity to arrange music as I have a passion for music theory and music composition.

 Some more details about me is that I married my high-school sweetheart who I met through high school band playing French Horn together. We both live happily with our tortoiseshell cat autumn and a variety of garden plants and vegetables!
