About Westley Springthorpe

Westley Springthorpe is a brass teacher who works with beginner to advanced students on French horn, trumpet, trombone, and euphonium, helping them develop strong fundamentals in a structured, student-centered environment. His lessons emphasize instrument care, warm-up routines, scales, technique, lyrical playing, and method books while encouraging students to choose repertoire that is both enjoyable and challenging. Westley believes students learn best when they have an active role in their musical journey, combining solid technical foundations with personalized instruction. Whether preparing for school band, all-district or all-state auditions, college auditions, or simply learning for personal enjoyment, students receive thoughtful guidance tailored to their goals. Westley holds degrees in Music Education and Horn Performance from Western Carolina University and brings over five years of private brass teaching experience.
