Education: More than 40 years of experience as a performing dummer and percussionist. I've taken hundreds of private drum lessons with leading authors of percussion books and methods.
Performance Experience: Performing in band, orchestra, marching band, dance band and musical theatre since high school (and that was a long time ago!) Performed in popular wedding and club bands in the NYC metro area for more than 20 years, and currently recreating the experience live and on-line.
Teaching Experience: A music and sports coach and instructor for 10 years. I joined the Music and Arts team in 2020.
Teaching Philosophy: Drums are fun! Learn your rudiments, and turn your talent into a life-long pursuit.
Get to know Paul Simonetti
I love music, all kinds! For a drummer/percussionist, that creates all kinds of opportunities, from tapping rhythms with pencils on a schoolbook, to a crescendo roll on tympani in the orchestra. I have extensive training in orchestral percussion, Dance (Big) Band, Latin beats, pop and rock, and many years playing drums with one of the NY Tri-State areas most popular wedding/club bands.
While I still work on musical projects with former colleagues, I teach now at Music & Arts in Olney. Since there really is nothing like banging the skins in a band, why not try. I’d love to help.
