Today marks the end of the first week of school for Harford County. Around this time, most parents are starting to see syllabi come home. Thus begins the mad rush for school supplies. Here are some helpful hints to get you started for the 2014 Rental Season!
1) Timing is everything. By now, most kids have an idea of what band and/or orchestra instrument they're interested in. Once they know, our best suggestion would be to come in as soon as possible. The two busiest weeks of the our year are approximately between September 14-28, with our two busiest days being the two Saturdays in that range (in the year of 2014, those days are the 20th and 27th). We are expecting about 60 rental customers on each of those days! It sounds like Christmas time at the mall. If you'd like to avoid the rush, the first two weeks of September are considerably calmer.
2) The tools you need to be successful. Here at the Bel Air Music & Arts, we see over 1,000 rentals in one month! Therefore, we like to have lists of the supplies and books that the teachers are requiring their students to own. There are a lot of schools that we see students from, but we do have all of the tools that your child/children need to be successful with their instrument! We have the instrument rentals, cleaning supplies, metronomes, tuners, books, lessons, and any other accessories you'll need to keep your instrument in working condition and sounding great.
3) Feel free to give us a call! Music & Arts is spread out with 137 stores (currently) spread out amongst 23 states. However, we still strive for the Ma & Pa shop feel, and strive to be your community music store. If you have any questions, whether it's about rates of rentals, our damage coverage program, or even if you just want to know what times we're open, feel free to give us a call here, at 410.569.3500. We look forward to seeing you, and happy renting!
