About Adam Stiber
I have been playing the cello for 20 years and am currently a candidate for the Doctor of Musical Arts Degree at UNLV, where I am a student
of Dr. Andrew Smith and served for the past three years as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. During my time in Nevada, I have appeared
as principal cellist with the Henderson Symphony Orchestra, held the cello chairs in UNLV’s Graduate String Quartet and Wind Orchestra, and performed with major artists such as Celine Dion and Laura Pausini. My teaching philosophy is centered around guiding the student towards finding their own voice on the instrument
and developing a technique free from excess tension. In addition to teaching at Music and Arts, I am on the instrumental faculty of the College of Southern Nevada and can be heard performing on the strip as part of the Venetian’s Streetmosphere shows.
