About Aissa

Aissa Maese is a musician currently living in San Antonio. As a clarinetist, she has performed with a variety of ensembles across the country. Able to perform classical and contemporary music, Aissa has premiered and recorded with some of the most exciting composers of our time, including Julie Giroux, Michael Markowski, and Frank Ticheli. Aissa made her Carnegie Hall debut with the Canyon High School Wind Ensemble in 2012, and most recently, performed at Carnegie Hall in 2016 with the Indiana University Wind Ensemble featuring Dr. Otis Murphy. She served as principal clarinet of the National Intercollegiate Band in 2015 and has participated in the Philadelphia International Music Festival.

In addition to playing the clarinet, Aissa is a violinist and enjoys playing saxophone. She loves the opportunity to work with students in helping them become better musicians/citizens.

Aissa is a native Texan. She completed her Bachelor of Music at Texas Lutheran University and her Master of Music at Indiana University. In the near future, she plans on pursuing a Doctorate of Musical Arts.
