About Amber

Hello and welcome! If you are new to this instrument, welcome to the wonderful world of the piano! If you have taken lessons before, I am excited to nurture your musical talent, and help you take it to the next level.

No matter what your age or abilities, there are some fun experiences ahead for you in my studio! I offer my students a number of opportunities throughout the year, to perform and learn with other students. I have two main recitals per year, in addition to offering occasional group lessons. Because I am a member of the Edmonds Music Teacher's Association, my students have extra opportunities to participate in festivals, recitals, and the Music Artistry Program (formerly called Adjudications).

I have eight years of experience as a piano teacher, two years completed as a piano performance major in college, and a master's degree in counseling psychology. I have a patient, outgoing, and calm personality that works well with the challenges of learning a new instrument. I pay close attention to musical detail and technique, to help you be the best musician you can be. I also use a variety of activities and hands-on learning approaches, especially for young children, to keep lessons interesting and fun!

Having worked with children and adults with disabilities for eighteen years in various roles as a special education paraprofessional, childcare site director, counselor and case manager, I bring this unique expertise and passion to the music world. If you have a physical or developmental disability and would like to learn the piano, I would be more than happy to adapt our lessons to fit your unique situation. My firm belief is that music is for everyone!

When I am not teaching or playing the piano, I enjoy gardening, knitting, walking outside, and spending time with my mini lop rabbit named Mila.
